Outside Interests
- While devoting most of my time to work and study, I have always strived to achieve a balance between work, family and sport.
- I spent nine years rowing at the highest level across Ireland and the UK; 1987-1996. RBAI, QUB & Belfast Rowing Clubs. I hold two Irish National Champion pots, intermediate IV 1992, Rowing Blue, National Champions senior VIII 1994, as well as representing NI at UK national and international level rowing. I maintain an active interest in the local rowing scene in Belfast.
- I enjoy watersports in all shapes and guises, some think I haven’t really moved on from my rowing days.
- I also enjoy Triathlon at olympic and half ironman distance competing in open events throughout Ireland 2003-present. Aims for the next year include completion of a full iron-man event
- Cycling is a major component of triathlon so I compete in road racing and time trials with Phoenix CC Northern Ireland 2004 –present.
- I am married with four young children, I am greatly indebted to my long-suffering wife who tirelessly endures and supports my passion for sporting activity and the outdoors.
